SARIAYA, Quezon - Sariaya municipal government, with the aim of creating a centralized hub for tourists to obtain information about the various attractions, accommodations, and activities available in the area, will establish a Tourism Information Registration Center in Maharlika Highway, Greener Pastures, Sariaya, Quezon.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the center was held on Wednesday led by Sariaya Mayor Marcelo Gayeta, along with local government officials and representatives from the tourism industry.
The establishment of the Tourism Information Registration Center is expected to boost tourism in Sariaya by providing convenient and comprehensive assistance to tourists while also supporting local businesses and generating employment opportunities for the community.
According to Mayor Gayeta, this is a fulfillment of the legacy of the local government's dream to have a landmark in the town of Sariaya by having its own Welcome Arch. It's not only a symbol of Sariaya's identity and pride but also a warm invitation to visitors to explore the town's rich culture, history, and natural attractions.
The establishment of the center, with the help of the assigned tourism officers, will ensure that tourists have access to accurate information, tour packages, and assistance in planning their itineraries when arriving at the tourist destination in Sariaya.
It features designs derived from the Art Deco of the town, such as Women Goddesses, which refers to the history of women empowerment in Sariaya. The best of the town is also showcased in the center, from its famous local delicacies to its traditional crafts and products.
A symbol of the mountains and the ocean, the Tower of Municipal Hall, created by National Artist Jose Arellano, and its municipality name, Sariaya, are also incorporated into the design of the tourist information center. This not only provides tourists with useful information but also immerses them in the rich culture and heritage of Sariaya from the moment they step foot into the center.
According to EA III Randy L. Tronilla, Chief Tourism Operations Officer, the manner of displaying the town's name is futuristic because of the aim and purpose of transforming the town into a city in the future.
The incorporation of the municipality's name in the design of the tourist information center showcases Sariaya's aspirations for growth and development. Promoting its identity and heritage, the town hopes to attract more visitors and ultimately achieve its goal of becoming a city in the future.
Tronilla said it has an allocated budget worth 4.3 million, with the goal of finishing its construction from January to June this year.
"This project will be of great help because it will serve as an identity and tourist destination for tourists arriving or passing through Sariaya, Quezon." he added.
