LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The region's officials and stakeholders gather to strategize on initiatives that will bring positive change to the communities. They focus on identifying key areas of improvement and developing sustainable solutions to address the needs of the region's residents.

On January 30th, the 5th Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines (VMLP) Region IVA-CALABARZON gathered in Quezon Province for a regional meeting. Led by Santa Cruz and Laguna Vice Mayor Laarni Malibiran, the session centered on exploring programs to empower disadvantaged communities and individuals.

Several key areas of support were identified during the VMLP meeting. To bolster livelihoods, lobbying efforts to fund the TUPAD program will create temporary employment opportunities. The AICS program aims to offer financial assistance to those facing hardship, providing crucial crisis support.

Healthcare access was also addressed through the MAIP program, which seeks to deliver medical aid to underprivileged patients. Finally, the SLP program works towards fostering long-term economic prospects for communities and promoting sustainable development.

The meeting served as a platform for provincial chapter presidents to exchange ideas and showcase ongoing projects spearheaded by their respective vice mayors. The exchange of ideas and showcasing of ongoing projects by provincial chapter presidents during the meeting demonstrated the commitment of vice mayors to actively contribute to the development and progress of their communities.

This collaborative effort helps ensure that the programs mentioned earlier, such as AICS, MAIP, and SLP, are effectively implemented and have a lasting impact on the economic and social well-being of the people they serve.

Governor Doktora Helen Tan, Vice Governor Third Alcala, Lucena City Mayor Kuya Mark Alcala, and Vice Mayor Dondon Alcala graced the occasion as guests.

In her keynote address, Governor Tan underscored the significance of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches. She stressed the need to rise above political differences for the greater good of the people.
