ALABAT, Quezon - Renewable energy leader Alternergy Holdings Corp. (Alternergy) recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with China-based Envision Energy to supply turbines for its Alabat and Tanay wind power projects. These projects, boasting a combined capacity of 162 megawatts (MW), represent a significant leap forward in the Philippines' transition to clean energy.
Envision, chosen through a rigorous selection process, will design, manufacture, and deliver wind turbine generators (WTGs) for both projects. Their expertise in wind technology ensures top performance and reliability, further solidified by a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.
“Partnering with Envision, a leader in wind technology, brings cutting-edge solutions to our Alabat and Tanay projects,” says Knud Hedeager, President of Alternergy Wind Holdings Corp. “This ensures optimal energy generation and positions these wind turbines as the largest in the Philippines upon installation.”
Both projects are strategically located to maximize wind potential. The Alabat Wind Project, Quezon's first, will connect to the grid via the Quezon 1 Electric Cooperative Inc.'s 69-kilovolt system. Tanay, Alternergy's third project in Rizal, leverages data from its 84-meter meteorological mast for optimal wind resource utilization.
“Alternergy is committed to pioneering efforts in renewable energy,” states Alternergy President Gerry Magbanua. “This partnership demonstrates our dedication to state-of-the-art solutions for high performance and reliability. These projects will not only contribute significantly to the Philippines' renewable energy goals but also establish Tanay as a key player in sustainable development.”
The Alabat and Tanay projects are part of Alternergy's ambitious expansion plan, aiming to develop up to 1,370 MW of additional wind, solar, and hydro projects. This commitment positions Alternergy as a leader in the Philippines' transition to a sustainable future.
