TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – A crucial agreement was signed on Thursday, February 1, 2024 between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 4A and Tayabas City to ensure the efficient and targeted use of data for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Tayabas City Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso and DSWD 4A Regional Director Mylah Gatchalian formally inked the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), solidifying their commitment to utilizing the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) data, also known as Listahanan 3. This data will play a vital role in identifying potential beneficiaries from underprivileged families in Tayabas City who qualify for the 4Ps program.

"This agreement underscores the importance of collaboration between government agencies to effectively reach those in need," stated Mayor Reynoso-Pontioso. "By leveraging Listahanan 3, we can streamline the selection process and ensure that the 4Ps program truly benefits the most vulnerable families in our city."

DSWD 4A Director Gatchalian echoed the Mayor's sentiments, highlighting the value of data-driven decision making. "Through this partnership, we aim to promote efficient and transparent targeting of 4Ps beneficiaries, allowing us to maximize the program's impact on poverty reduction in Tayabas City," she expressed.

The MOA signing ceremony was witnessed by various key personnel from both the DSWD and Tayabas City government, including Regional Field Coordinator Jhoanna Acebes, City Administrator Diego V. Narzabal, OIC-OCPDC Gino Zaporteza, CLGOO Fe Roales, CSWDO Irma Ilocario, CAO JV Ford, and City Legal Officer Allan Cabriga.

This agreement marks a significant step forward in ensuring the accurate and inclusive identification of 4Ps beneficiaries in Tayabas City. By prioritizing data-driven approaches, the DSWD and the local government aim to empower underprivileged families and contribute to the city's overall development.
