TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - The Tayabas City Police Station has filed formal double murder charges against a couple following a comprehensive investigation into the deaths of Lorry Litada and her daughter, Mai Motegi. The complaint, filed today, March 19, 2024, with the Tayabas City Prosecutor's Office, also names two additional suspects.
According to the Tayabas City Police Station, in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Office, it remains resolute in ensuring that those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The investigation revealed that Litada and Motegi were brutally murdered in their home, with evidence pointing to the couple and the two additional suspects as the perpetrators.
Police Brigadier General (PBGEN) Paul Kenneth Lucas, Calabarzon police director, on behalf of the Tayabas City Police Station, assured the public of their unwavering commitment to bringing justice to the victims and their families. He added that filing double murder charges against the suspects reflects the dedication of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) "MOTEGI." This group, comprised of personnel from various PRO4A units, is committed to uncovering the truth in this case.
“I extend my gratitude to those who contributed to the progress and resolution of this case, including witnesses who came forward with crucial information, and to the community for their support. The PNP CALABARZON will continue implementing the rule of law and ensuring the safety and well being of the people in the region,” he said.
Meanwhile, an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) is filed with the prosecutors office as one of the suspects is a passport holder.
The SITG “MOTEGI” has made significant advancements in the investigation surrounding the deaths of Motegi and Litada. Their bodies were discovered in Tayabas City on March 14, 2024. Thorough investigative work and witness accounts have led the SITG to identify suspects in the case. On March 18, 2024, the SITG secured and executed a search warrant at a related residence.
This search yielded substantial evidence, including 30 pieces of 1,000 peso bills, 136 pieces of 10,000 Japanese yen, and other materials crucial to the ongoing investigation and building a comprehensive case against those responsible for this heinous crime.
The SITG “MOTEGI” conducted the first case conference on March 15, 2024, to investigate the deaths of Motegi, 26, Asian/Japanese, and Litada, 54, a Japanese resident. The victims were discovered at the residence of Mrs. Ligaya Oliva Pajulas, Lorry Litada's eldest sister.
The victims were reported missing on February 21, 2024, by Saylee Oliva Olbis, Lorry Litada's sister. The Tayabas City Police Station's subsequent investigation led to an inspection of the Pajulas residence. Due to the softness of the soil near the house, investigators initiated a search that uncovered the bodies. (with reports from RPIO4A)
