LUCENA CITY, Quezon Province – In bold defiance of the 'awareness only' approach often seen during Women's Month, Connected Women Quezon Province ignited a beacon of empowerment within their community.
Their recent seminar on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and Solo Parenting at Kafei Tan, Iyam, Lucena City, transformed discussion into action, educating and supporting over 80 attendees.
Hon. Elizabeth Sio, Lucena City Coucilor set the stage, inspiring participants with her call to action. Alongside Fiscal Lan Baldeo and Dra. Maria Lourdes Laydia, who provided critical legal and psychological guidance, made the seminar a roadmap for those navigating VAWC situations.
Connected Women Quezon Province's commitment to women's empowerment runs deep. "This was about more than just celebrating Women's Month," said Josenia Matienzo, a founder of the organization. "We're arming women with knowledge, with opportunities, and with the tools they need to fight back against adversity."
