GENERAL LUNA, Quezon – For 500 students in General Luna, receiving a PHP 4,000 scholarship from the Bayanihan Para sa Kinabukasan ng Kabataan (BKK) program represents far more than just financial aid.
These scholarships ignite dreams of a brighter future, providing opportunities for education and personal growth that may have otherwise been out of reach. Through this program, students are empowered to pursue their goals and aspirations, creating a ripple effect of positive change in their community.
General Luna Mayor Matt Erwin Florido, the architect of the BKK program, understands the transformative power of education. "Investing in our students is investing in our community's future," he declared. "We want them to dream big and know that we believe in their potential."
The BKK program provides essential financial support, especially for underprivileged students. However, it also encourages parents and the community to rally around their young scholars, ensuring they have the encouragement needed to succeed.
While initially benefiting graduating and 3rd-year students, the BKK program will soon reach over 1,000 students in General Luna, including 1st and 2nd-year undergraduates.
Mayor Matt's commitment to education extends beyond scholarships. His administration built three new high schools, expanding access and opportunity for the town's youth.
"We are determined to make education a top priority," the mayor asserted. "The BKK program, with its collaborative support, proves that our entire community is invested in the dreams of our students."
