LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Department of Health (DOH), in partnership with Senator Sonny Angara, delivered twenty-one (21) new ambulances to the provincial government of Quezon and several local government units yesterday, May 22, 2024. This significant contribution aims to bolster emergency response capabilities and improve healthcare access across the province.

The turnover ceremony, held at the provincial capitol, was led by DOH Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia and Quezon Governor Dr. Helen Tan. Representatives from beneficiary municipalities, along with Vice Governor Third Alcala, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Kristin Mae Villaseñor, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, were present to witness the momentous occasion. Rhom Frias represented Senator Angara, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region.

Assistant Secretary Valencia highlighted the importance of this initiative in strengthening the local health system, emphasizing the government's dedication to ensuring timely and efficient emergency medical services for all residents. He expressed gratitude to Senator Angara for his unwavering support in securing funding for the ambulances through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP).

Senator Angara, in a statement read by his representative, underscored the need for modern and well-equipped ambulances in providing critical care during transit and saving lives. He reiterated his commitment to working with the DOH and local governments to further enhance healthcare infrastructure and services in Quezon province.

The new ambulances, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, will significantly improve response times and enable healthcare professionals to deliver immediate care to patients in need. This investment is expected to have a positive impact on the overall health outcomes of the province, particularly in remote areas where access to medical facilities can be challenging.

With this initiative, the DOH and Senator Angara demonstrate their commitment to building a more resilient and responsive healthcare system in Quezon. The ambulances will serve as a vital resource in the province's ongoing efforts to provide quality healthcare for all its residents.
