LUCENA CITY, Quezon - In a ceremony celebrating the dedication and service of Filipino physicians, Quezon Governor Helen Tan was honored with the prestigious Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Award for Government Service at the 33rd Philippine Medical Association (PMA) Awards. This esteemed accolade recognizes Governor Tan's exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to transforming healthcare in Quezon Province.

Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Jose Rizal, the lady governor's accomplishments reflect a deep-rooted passion for serving her community and a holistic approach to governance. Her administration's focus on expanding medical services, improving vaccination rates, and implementing comprehensive health education campaigns has significantly enhanced the well-being of countless individuals in Quezon Province.

Guided by the belief that healthcare is a fundamental right, Tan has tirelessly worked to ensure that quality medical care is accessible to all residents, regardless of their socioeconomic background or location. Her efforts have led to the establishment of new healthcare facilities and the strengthening of existing ones, creating a healthier and more resilient Quezon.

Beyond healthcare, her leadership extends to various sectors, including education, agriculture, infrastructure development, environmental protection, and the fight against malnutrition. Her comprehensive approach to governance prioritizes the overall well-being of her constituents, addressing the diverse needs of the community.

During a recent meeting with local journalists and outgoing Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Manager Lito Geron, Governor Tan emphasized that the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Award is a collective achievement, reflecting the dedication and hard work of her entire healthcare team. This recognition underscores the importance of collaborative leadership and teamwork in driving meaningful progress within the province.

The discussion also focused on upcoming initiatives aimed at empowering local communities in Quezon by fostering greater participation in decision-making processes. Governor Tan stressed the crucial role of town and barangay governments in ensuring the effective delivery of essential services to residents.

Furthermore, the province is actively addressing climate change concerns by exploring renewable energy sources like solar farms and taking proactive measures, in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense, to mitigate potential risks associated with La Niña.

Governor Helen Tan's legacy is one of unwavering dedication to public service, exceptional leadership, and a profound impact on the healthcare sector in Quezon Province. Her achievements serve as an inspiration not only to her constituents but also to aspiring leaders across the Philippines.

The Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Award is a fitting tribute to a leader who embodies the ideals of Dr. Rizal himself – a commitment to service, a passion for progress, and an unwavering belief in the power of healthcare to transform lives. Governor Tan's journey is a testament to the fact that with vision, dedication, and a heart for the people, true leadership can create a brighter and healthier future for all.
