PITOGO, Quezon - Quezon 3rd District Representative Quezon Reynante Arrogancia, led the successful implementation of the "Ayuda Para sa Kapos Ang Kita" (AKAP) program in Pitogo, Quezon, on Thursday, June 20, 2024. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to low-income families in the region to alleviate the effects of economic challenges.

Pre-identified LGBTQ beneficiaries from eight barangays in Pitogo, Quezon received cash aid and grocery packages to help them cope with their financial difficulties. The program also includes livelihood training and skills development opportunities to empower recipients to improve their economic situation in the long term.

Cong. Arrogancia, together with local government officials and partner agencies, personally handed out the assistance, ensuring that it reached those who needed it most. "The Ayuda Para sa Kapos Ang Kita Program is a testament to our commitment to uplifting the lives of our constituents, especially those who are facing financial difficulties from the LGBTQ community,"

"We understand the challenges that many LGBTQ individuals face, and we are dedicated to providing support and resources to help them overcome these obstacles and thrive. Through this program, we aim to empower LGBTQ individuals to become financially independent and build a brighter future for themselves. By working together with various stakeholders, we can create a more inclusive and supportive community for all." said the congressman.

"There is no diversity without inclusivity, and we are committed to ensuring that all members of the LGBTQ community have equal access to opportunities for success and prosperity. Together, we can create a more equitable society where everyone has the chance to thrive. LGBTQ offer the community a unique perspective and valuable contributions that enrich our society as a whole. It is important to continue advocating for equality and acceptance to create a more inclusive environment for everyone," he added.

Aside from financial assistance, the program also included a livelihood component aimed at providing beneficiaries with skills training and opportunities to improve their income-generating capacity. This approach is in line with the Congressman's vision of empowering communities and promoting sustainable development in the region.

Pitogo Mayor Dexter Sayat also expressed his gratitude to Cong. Arrogancia and Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan, along with the DSWD and the barangay officials, for their efforts in organizing the event. He emphasized the importance of providing assistance to those in need, especially during these challenging times.

" We must work together to ensure that all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, are treated with respect and dignity. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and understanding, we can build a more compassionate and supportive community for everyone." The event concluded with a commitment from local leaders to continue supporting LGBTQ rights and advocating for equality in all aspects of society.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP), a massive initiative aimed at providing assistance to low-income families throughout Central Luzon. The program was implemented simultaneously in seven provinces of the region, including Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.

On May 18, along with the nationwide launch of the AKAP of the DSWD in different parts of the country, the program was also launched in the town of Catanauan to help near-poor or low-income earners who are greatly affected by economic inflation in the country.

This initiative was made possible with the help of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian. The launch was attended by Vice Mayor Manuel Montano, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and various barangay captains in the town of Catanauan.

Approximately five hundred (500) Barangay Tanods in various barangays in Catanauan were included in the first series of payouts, which will also be extended to various towns throughout the Bondoc Peninsula.
