TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region IV-A has recently distributed school supplies and much-needed livelihood packages to 50 families here in a heartwarming display of support for local families struggling to make ends meet.

The initiative, led by DOLE Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Marion Sevilla, aims to boost the local economy and create job opportunities in various sectors. The livelihood packages included rice, frozen goods, burger and karenderya packages, fishing gear, and Nego Karts (mobile vending carts).

Tagkawayan Mayor Carlo Eleazar, who was present at the distribution, expressed his gratitude for the initiative. "We are deeply grateful for DOLE's support in providing our constituents with the means to start their own businesses and improve their lives," Mayor Eleazar said.

"These livelihood packages are not just handouts; they are investments in our people's potential. We believe that by empowering our residents with the tools and resources they need, we can create a more prosperous and resilient community." added the mayor.

PESO Manager Ma. Sarina Garcia and Labor and Employment Officer Jaime Alpuerto echoed the mayor's sentiments, expressing their gratitude to all partners for their invaluable support.

Among those who witnessed the distribution of the Pangkabuhayan packages were Edwin Hernandez, Provincial Head of DOLE Quezon Provincial Office, SP Board Member Harrold Butardo, and councilors Kon Fourth Salumbides and Revie Masangkay, as well as Rachel Eleazar.

This initiative is a testament to the government's ongoing commitment to helping families in need and stimulating economic growth in the region. The officials also emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local stakeholders in addressing poverty and unemployment. (with reports from Tagkawayan Teleradyo)
