BUENAVISTA, Quezon – Starhorse Shipping Lines, Inc. (SSL), a prominent shipping company based here, has joined forces with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Buenavista in a groundbreaking partnership aimed at uplifting the local community. The collaboration was solidified with the signing of a Deed of Donation, marking a significant step towards enhancing the lives of Buenavista residents.

Under the agreement, SSL has pledged to donate 10,000 sq m of prime commercial land for relocation sites and 5,000 sq m for government centers, a donation entirely funded by SSL. This initiative is set to address housing needs and improve public service delivery in the area.

The partnership's vision extends beyond infrastructure, encompassing plans for a senior citizen park and other community-centric projects. The local government, with active participation from residents, will lead the development of these initiatives, ensuring their success and sustainability.

SSL General Manager Merian Reyes emphasized the company's commitment to social responsibility, stating, "We are confident that this donation will make a real difference in the lives of the people of Buenavista."

Buenavista Mayor Rey Rosilla, Jr., expressed his gratitude for SSL's generosity, highlighting the project's potential to enhance the quality of life for residents and improve essential services. The initiative has also garnered support from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan.

Reyes further highlighted the importance of quality housing in improving the overall well-being of the community and reiterated SSL's dedication to working closely with local stakeholders to ensure the project's success.

Construction of the new community center and relocation site is expected to begin later this year, with completion projected within the next year. This transformative project promises to create a vibrant space for residents to connect, engage in activities, and build a stronger sense of community within Buenavista.
