TIAONG, Quezon – The vibrant town of Tiaong recently concluded its second annual BAYANiJUAN Festival, a week-long celebration that showcased the rich culture, unity, and culinary talents of its residents. The festival, which ran from June 17th to 24th, featured a diverse array of activities that captivated both locals and visitors alike.

The festival commenced with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass, setting a tone of gratitude and reverence for the town's patron saint, San Juan Bautista. The mass marked the official opening of BAYANiJUAN Festival 2024, signifying the start of a week filled with festivities and cultural immersion.



A heartwarming Balikbayan Day welcomed overseas Filipino workers and residents returning to their roots for the celebration. The event fostered a sense of belonging and connection to the community, highlighting the importance of family and heritage.

The Kababaihang Meaksyon ng Tiaong (KMEA) BAYANiJUAN Cook Fest showcased the culinary prowess of local women, who competed to create the most delectable dishes using traditional recipes and ingredients. The Cook Fest not only celebrated the town's unique flavors but also empowered women and promoted their culinary skills.

The day concluded with a graceful Rigodon De Honor, where senior citizens took center stage in a traditional dance performance. The event honored the wisdom and contributions of the elderly, fostering intergenerational connections and preserving cultural traditions.

The second day of the BAYANiJUAN Festival 2024 continued the week-long celebration with a focus on health, wellness, artistic expression, canine charm, and the crowning of local royalty.

The day kicked off with an energetic Zumba Marathon, promoting fitness and fun for participants of all ages. The event encouraged a healthy lifestyle and community bonding through dance.

In the afternoon, the Bingo Bonanza brought excitement and anticipation as participants vied for prizes in a lively game of chance. The event added a touch of entertainment and camaraderie to the festivities.

Adding a unique twist to the festivities, a delightful Dog Fashion Show showcased the creativity of pet owners and the charm of their furry companions. Dogs of all breeds strutted their stuff on the runway, donning adorable outfits and captivating the audience with their playful personalities.

The evening culminated with the Sining Siklab sa BAYANiJUAN, a showcase of local artistic talent, and the much-anticipated Hari at Reyna ng Tiaong 2024 pageant. Talented young individuals competed for the titles, embodying grace, intelligence, and community spirit. The coronation of the new Hari and Reyna marked a highlight of the festival, symbolizing the town's pride in its youth and their potential as future leaders.

Day 3 of the BAYANiJUAN Festival was filled with adrenaline-pumping action and automotive excitement. The 1st RJM Motorcycle Fun Ride brought together motorcycle enthusiasts from all over for a scenic ride through Tiaong's picturesque landscapes. The event showcased the camaraderie and passion for motorcycles in the community.

Meanwhile, car and motor enthusiasts were treated to a stunning display of automotive excellence at the Car & Motor Show. The event featured a wide range of vehicles, from classic cars to modern supercars, showcasing the evolution of automotive design and technology.

The 2nd RJM Boxing Tournament provided an electrifying atmosphere as local boxers showcased their skills and determination in the ring. The tournament was a testament to the town's passion for sports and the talent of its athletes.

In addition to the Cook Fest, the festival also featured an Agri-Tourism Trade Fair, where local producers and entrepreneurs showcased their products, ranging from fresh produce and handicrafts to locally made delicacies. The trade fair provided a platform for local businesses to promote their products and connect with potential customers.

One of the highlights of the festival was the Motocross Exhibition, which attracted motocross enthusiasts from across the region. The exhibition showcased the skills and daring of local riders, who competed in various categories, providing thrilling entertainment for the spectators.

Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea expressed his delight at the success of the festival, stating that it not only celebrated the town's patron saint, San Juan Bautista, but also fostered unity and camaraderie among the residents. He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the town's cultural heritage and culinary traditions.

The BAYANiJUAN Festival truly lived up to its theme of "Tiaong Stronger Together," bringing the community together to celebrate their shared identity and showcase their talents. The festival not only provided a platform for local businesses and artisans but also promoted tourism and economic growth in the town.

As the festival concluded, residents and visitors alike were left with a sense of pride and appreciation for the rich culture and heritage of Tiaong. The BAYANiJUAN Festival served as a reminder of the importance of community and the power of unity in building a stronger and more vibrant town.

Adding to the excitement, a celebrity made a special appearance at the Bulingbuling Festival Foam Party, creating a buzz among attendees; AL JAMES along Viva Max Girls compose of Christine Bermas and Julia Victoria, DJ Jane Evangelista with MC Costaboy and Senoritas dancing to the latest hits, making it a night to remember for everyone who attended. The energy and enthusiasm of the crowd was infectious, solidifying the Bulingbuling Festival as a highlight of the year in Tiaong.

Mayor Mea's RJM Nights further amplified the festival's appeal with a special performances by renowned artist Skusta Clee, Andre Brillanetes, Paulo Avelino and Bamboo, attracting a massive crowd and leaving a lasting impression on attendees. The BAYANiJUAN Festival's resounding success not only highlighted the town's rich culture but also fostered a strong sense of community and camaraderie among residents.
