MULANAY, CALABARZON - A two-day First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Orientation was recently conducted for 156 Barangay Action Responders (BARs) from 28 barangays in Mulanay, Calabarzon. The orientation was headed by MDRRM Officer Willy Lincallo.

This training aims to equip BARs with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies within their communities. The participants learned basic life-saving techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), choking management, and bleeding control.

MDRRM Officer Lincallo emphasized the importance of BARs, stating, "Quote: Having trained BARs in our barangays will significantly improve our response capabilities and potentially save lives. They are our first line of defense during emergencies, and equipping them with these skills is crucial."

Lincallo further elaborated on the benefits of the training, saying, "Not only will this program enhance the BARs' ability to handle medical emergencies, but it will also boost their confidence in responding to various situations. Having this knowledge readily available can make a critical difference in the outcome of an emergency."

The participation of 156 BARs demonstrates the strong commitment of the barangays in Mulanay to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents. The MDRRM office's initiative in providing this training program is a commendable step towards building a more disaster-resilient community.

BLS Orientation is an essential component in equipping barangay responders with the necessary skills to effectively respond to emergencies. With this training, BARs will be better prepared to provide immediate assistance and potentially save lives in critical situations.
