Buenavista, Quezon – The local government of Buenavista successfully conducted a Consultative Planning Summit titled "Usapang Titulo sa Pag-unlad" on July 4-5 at the France PIO Resort in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna. This initiative, led by Buenavista Mayor ReyJr Esquerra Rosilla, aims to align barangay programs and projects with broader development plans for the community.

The summit served as a platform for barangay officials to present project proposals addressing local concerns. Through participatory planning, the municipality seeks to establish clear goals and strategies for development while empowering the community to actively participate in the process.

The event featured key speakers including DILG Region IV-A Regional Director Ariel Iglesia, CESO III; DILG Quezon Provincial Director Abigail Andres, CESO V; Engr. Russel Narte representing Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan; and BFAR Regional Director Sammy Malvas representing Congressman Reynante Arrogancia.

According to Iglesia, barangay officials play a crucial role in the success of local development projects, and their active involvement is essential for sustainable progress. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies, local officials, and community members to ensure effective and inclusive planning processes.

"Barangay officials serve as the bridge between the government and the community, making their participation vital in addressing the needs of the people. By fostering strong partnerships and communication channels, we can work together towards achieving our shared goals of progress and development," he said.

He also stressed the significance of transparency and accountability in all stages of project implementation to build trust and confidence among stakeholders. This approach will ultimately lead to better outcomes and an improved quality of life for all members of the community.

Mayor Rosilla expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders for their commitment to the development of Buenavista. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving the municipality's goals and improving the lives of its residents.

"This consultative planning summit is a crucial step towards building a stronger and more prosperous Buenavista," Mayor Rosilla said. "By working together with our barangay officials, civil society, and other partners, we can identify the needs of our community and develop effective solutions."

He added, "We believe that by empowering our people to participate in the planning process, we can ensure that our programs and projects truly address their needs and aspirations."
