LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan recently launched a new local political party, STAND UP Quezon (Solidarity for Transformation, Advancement and Nationalism towards a Dynamic, United and Progressive Quezon Province). The launch event was attended by a majority of the province's elected officials.

STAND UP Quezon aims to combat extreme poverty in the province through mass action and deliver programs and projects focused on health, education, agriculture, livelihood, infrastructure, nature and tourism, and good governance.



"Our goal is clear. We are here because we are ready to stand up for the well-being of our province. Our call is STAND UP Quezon for unity, STAND UP Quezon for success, and STAND UP Quezon against poverty," said Gov. Tan, who serves as party president.

Gov. Tan emphasized that beyond politics and the upcoming elections, the party will prioritize the needs of the people. "We are marshalling the full might of our political capital to secure a life of prosperity and HEALING for everyone. STAND UP Quezon encapsulates the essential ingredients of what we dream for our province: solidarity, transformation, advancement, nationalism, dynamism, unity, and progress," she explained.

The launch event was attended by prominent figures in local politics, including Congressmen Mark Enverga, Reynan Arrogancia, and Mike Tan, who also serves as Assistant Majority Leader of Congress.

The Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and 4K (Kababaihan KabalikaTAN Para sa Kakapanan and Kaunlaran ng Bayan), a new party-list organization in CALABARZON, formed alliances with STAND UP Quezon. Former Senate President and current NPC Chairman, Senator Vicente Tito Sotto III, was the guest of honor and speaker at the event.

Sen. Sotto emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity among different political groups to achieve common goals. He also commended the efforts of STAND UP Quezon in promoting nationalism and progress in the region.

"Together, we can work towards a better future for our country," Senator Sotto stated, encouraging continued cooperation among political parties and organizations. The event highlighted the potential for positive change through unity and shared values in CALABARZON.

A total of 226 out of 430 sitting elected officials, ranging from town councilors to the highest position in the province, took the oath of allegiance as members of the new party.
