LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The 46th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (NDPRW) culminated in a heartwarming and inspiring celebration in Quezon Province on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Quezon Convention Center. The event served as a platform to showcase the province's unwavering commitment to inclusivity and support for its Persons with Disabilities (PWD) community.

The highlight of the celebration was the distribution of prosthetics to 46 PWD, a tangible demonstration of the province's dedication to improving the lives of its constituents. The event was attended by Governor Doktora Helen Tan, Vice Governor Third Alcala, and several members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, who all expressed their support for the PWD community.

The NDPRW celebration in Quezon was a multifaceted affair, featuring a wide range of activities designed to promote awareness, understanding, and empowerment for PWD. Informational booths offered valuable resources and support services, while workshops and seminars delved into disability rights, prevention, and rehabilitation.

One of the most captivating aspects of the celebration was the showcase of cultural performances by talented PWD artists. These performances not only entertained the audience but also served as a powerful reminder of the immense potential and creativity that exists within the PWD community.

Governor Tan took the opportunity to highlight the province's ongoing efforts to provide free health services and inclusive education for PWD. She emphasized the importance of education in empowering individuals with disabilities and enabling them to reach their full potential.

The distribution of prosthetics was a particularly poignant moment, as each recipient shared their personal story and expressed their gratitude for the life-changing gift. The prosthetics will not only improve mobility but also open up new opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The NDPRW celebration in Quezon was a resounding success, demonstrating the province's unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive society for PWD.
