LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The Commission on Audit (COA) has awarded the Quezon Provincial Government an "Unmodified Opinion" for the second consecutive year, recognizing the province's unwavering commitment to financial transparency and accountability. This achievement signifies that the province's financial statements for 2023 are presented fairly and adhere to international public sector accounting standards.

This accolade underscores the effectiveness of Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan's HEALING Agenda, prioritizing good governance and efficient resource management. Despite budget constraints, the province has consistently maintained meticulous financial records, ensured compliance with regulations, and promoted transparency in its operations.

In a statement, COA affirmed, "The unmodified opinion signifies that the Quezon Provincial Government's financial statements are free from material misstatements and are presented fairly in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework. This is a testament to their commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management."

The COA's annual audit report not only validates the province's financial health but also offers recommendations for further enhancing financial management practices. The provincial government is dedicated to implementing these recommendations and continuously improving its financial systems.

Governor Tan commended the diligence of the provincial government's financial team and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of financial accountability. "This recognition is not just an accomplishment for the government; it is a victory for the people of Quezon," she stated. "We are committed to upholding transparency and ensuring that every peso is spent responsibly for the betterment of our province."

The Quezon Provincial Government's consistent achievement of unmodified opinions serves as a model for other local government units in the Philippines, demonstrating the positive impact of transparent and accountable financial management on public trust and good governance.
