LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Rotary Club of Lucena City Maharlika (RCLCM), led by their Chapter President Albert Roces, celebrated the success of their recent environmental and youth development initiative held in Brgy. Dalahican on July 20, 2024. This impactful project, spearheaded by their Director Red Guinauli and supported by their Irresistible Governor Arnold Mendoza, combined a coastal clean-up with a skills-building workshop specifically designed for out-of-school youth.
RCLCM members tackled plastic pollution, discarded fishing gear, and other debris along the Brgy. Dalahican coastline. Their dedication not only benefits the local marine ecosystem and beach health but also inspires the community.
The highlight for many was the engaging and valuable boneless bangus making workshop offered specifically to out-of-school youth participants. Learning how to prepare this popular Filipino dish equips these young people with a sought-after culinary skill, opening doors to future income. These newfound skills empower them to sell their creations in local markets or even start their own small businesses, paving the way for a brighter future.
Guinauli's leadership in this innovative program is a testament to the RCLCM's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and youth development.
