LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Rotary Club of Lucena City Maharlika on July 27, 2024 demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education and community service by donating cleaning supplies, paint, and essential school materials to two Quezon Province schools as part of the Brigada Eskwela initiative. Club members, led by Charter President Dr. Albert Roces and initiated by Director Marilyn Mendiola, actively participated in the cleanup and painting efforts at one of the beneficiary schools.

The recipient schools,Ilayang Dupay in Lucena City, Quezon and Dagatan National Highschool in Dolores, Quezon expressed their deep gratitude for the generous donation and the hands-on support from the Rotary Club. The provided materials will significantly enhance the learning environment for students, ensuring a clean and well-maintained space for the start of the new academic year.

Director Mendiola emphasized the vital role of community involvement in education and encouraged other organizations to support local schools through similar initiatives. "The Rotary Club is committed to continuing its partnership with these schools through future projects and initiatives to further elevate the educational experience for students. The impact of these efforts will extend beyond the current students, benefiting future generations who will thrive in a more conducive learning environment," she stated.

The collaboration between the Rotary Club and local schools has already yielded positive outcomes in student engagement and academic performance, according to Mendiola. "Brigada Eskwela is not just about improving the physical facilities of schools, but also about fostering a sense of community and collaboration among students, teachers, and volunteers. This initiative has the potential to create long-lasting positive impacts on the education system." Mendiola added.

"It should do not just school opening but also continue to support and enhance the overall learning experience for students throughout the academic year." Additionally, she emphasized the importance of sustained efforts in maintaining and further developing the school-community partnerships established through Brigada Eskwela.

Club President Roces shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "Brigada Eskwela is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to our community and invest in the future of our children. By working together, we can create a more vibrant and supportive learning environment for all students."

Roces emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and encouraged all members to actively participate in upcoming Brigada Eskwela activities. He expressed confidence that through collective action, the club can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and contribute to the overall improvement of the school community.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide initiative focused on preparing schools for the opening of classes. It encourages communities, parents, and various organizations to collaborate in cleaning, repairing, and improving school facilities.

The Rotary Club of Lucena City Maharlika's contribution to Brigada Eskwela in Quezon Province, spearheaded by Director Mendiola, exemplifies its dedication to service and its belief in the transformative power of education in building a better future for the community.
