SARIAYA, Quezon – Mayor Marcelo Gayeta led a comprehensive inspection of the under-construction Sariaya Government House on August 5, 2024, marking a significant step towards realizing the town's vision for a modern and efficient city center.

Accompanied by department heads, the mayor meticulously examined the layout and features of each office, from the basement to the rooftop, ensuring that the new structure aligns with the town's cityhood aspirations the Mayor is determined to ensure that the Sariaya Government House will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology to better serve the needs of the community.

The new town hall is the centerpiece of an ambitious 11.6-hectare government complex in Brgy. Sampaloc 2, designed to consolidate various municipal offices and provide essential services to a growing population. Upon completion, the complex will also house the Mansion Convention Center, a sprawling Sariaya Plaza for community gatherings, dedicated police and fire stations, and other vital facilities that are essential for a thriving city.

Strategically located near the under-construction MUNICIPAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE (MDRRMO) building, Balai Lingkuran, Super Rural Health Unit (RHU), and the Sariaya Agri-Trading Center, the new government house is expected to streamline administrative processes and enhance accessibility for citizens. With construction progress currently at 84%, the project is on track to be fully operational by 2025, potentially serving as the Sariaya City Hall as the town actively pursues cityhood.

Mayor Gayeta emphasized that the new government complex is more than just a construction project; it represents Sariaya's transformation into a vibrant and progressive city, " a symbol of our commitment to efficient governance and improved public service delivery."

The complex is expected to stimulate economic growth, attract investments, and improve the overall quality of life for residents, all of which are key indicators of cityhood eligibility. The town's commitment to infrastructure development, coupled with its growing population and economic activity, has strengthened its case for cityhood.

In preparation for the transition, the local government has been actively implementing various programs and initiatives aimed at meeting the requirements for cityhood. These include improving local revenue generation, enhancing public services, and ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards.

In addition, Sariaya has been working closely with national agencies to expedite the cityhood process and ensure a smooth transition to becoming a full-fledged city. By proactively addressing the necessary criteria and collaborating with key stakeholders, Sariaya is positioning itself for a successful transformation that will benefit its residents and contribute to its continued growth and development.

As the largest construction project in Sariaya's history, the new government complex stands as a testament to Mayor Gayeta's unwavering commitment to modernization and efficient governance. The project's successful completion will undoubtedly usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for Sariaya, solidifying its position as a leading municipality in Quezon Province and paving the way for its transition into a thriving city.
