TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon - Young individuals from Tagkawayan gathered for an empowering two-day Youth Camp focused on leadership development and social responsibility, held at Tagkawayan Central Elementary School from August 24-25, featured insightful discussions, team-building activities, and inspiring talks from various experts.

The camp, organized by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) in collaboration with the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) and Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation, aimed to equip the youth with essential skills and knowledge to become effective leaders and advocates for positive change.

Themed "Leadership for Change Positioned to Influence", the camp covered a wide range of topics, including leadership skills, health and wellness, gender equality, social inclusion, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and peace and security.

"We wanted to provide a platform for our young people to learn about leadership, health, gender equality, and social responsibility," said LYDO Designate, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Bong Tadique.

The camp featured a series of insightful talks and discussions. Public Information Officer Reden De Villa shared valuable insights on leadership, while Municipal Health Officer Dr. Kevin Art Matundan provided advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Municipal Social and Development Officer Rhea Rodriguez led a discussion on social inclusion, equity, and gender and development. She emphasized the importance of creating a more inclusive and equal society for all individuals.

Participants also learned about entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and BIR matters from Rachelle Jason. Peace and security were also addressed with talks by PMAJ Eric Veluz of Tagkawayan MPS and PSSG representative Maria Teresita Tulagan of WCPD.

The BIDA Program was also promoted to encourage youth participation in drug awareness efforts. Team-building activities fostered camaraderie and teamwork among the attendees.

Tagkawayan Mayor Carlo Eleazar and Vice Mayor Danny Liwanag expressed their support for the event, along with Sangguniang Bayan members and former Cons. George Lopamia.

"We are grateful to the youth, MLGOO Carl Edgar Cusi, and the Tagkawayan Central Elementary School for their invaluable contributions to the success of the Youth Camp," stated Faye Servando from the Local Youth Development Office.

The Youth Camp 2024 has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the young participants, empowering them to become future leaders and advocates for positive change in Tagkawayan.
