UNISAN, Quezon - The Lingap sa Mamamayan, Libreng Gamutan medical and dental mission, spearheaded by the Quezon Provincial Government under the leadership of Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan, is making significant strides in providing free healthcare services to underserved communities across the region. Since its launch on June 39, 2023, the program has already brought positive change to the lives of thousands.

The most recent medical mission took place in Unisan, Quezon, on August 25, 2024, benefiting hundreds of residents with free consultations, check-ups, and medicines. The mission offered a wide range of services, including general medicine, pediatrics, dental care, and eye examinations.

Unisan Mayor Ferdinand Adulta expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the medical mission, stating, “We are deeply grateful to the provincial government for bringing Lingap sa Mamamayan to our town. This medical mission has provided much-needed healthcare services to our residents, many of whom have limited access to medical care.”

“The help doesn’t stop with medical missions; we are also seeing the positive effects of various projects that are improving the lives of our people, such as the TUPAD program, which provides temporary employment opportunities. I, along with the Municipal Council, am committed to continuing our partnership with the provincial government to ensure that these programs continue to benefit our community.” he added.

Tan underscored the significance of the program, expressing gratitude to the local officials for their support, and also extending her thanks to the doctors and other medical specialists who volunteered their time and expertise to make the mission a success.

She further stated: “Lingap sa Mamamayan is more than just medical missions; it’s a continuous commitment to the health and well-being of every Quezonian. We’ve seen patients who need ongoing care, from transplants to chemotherapy, and we’re here to support them every step of the way. Some individuals have already received life-changing treatments through the program.”

She emphasized the importance of community collaboration in ensuring the success of Lingap sa Mamamayan. “Our government understands the needs of our people, and we’re dedicated to providing essential services, not just during medical missions, but every day.”

She also stressed that she understood the importance of clear and effective communication in reaching all members of the community. "We have offices ready to assist, a hotline you can call, and a Facebook page where you can reach out. Our ultimate goal is to bring Lingap sa Mamamayan to every town in Quezon, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to quality healthcare. Right communication is key to ensuring that everyone knows about these services and how to access them." she said.

Residents can expect the program to continue its journey across the province in the coming weeks, bringing free medical care to every citizen of Quezon. They can the Quezon Provincial Facebook Page for updates on the schedule and locations of Lingap sa Mamamayan's medical missions.

The Lingap sa Mamamayan medical mission thrives on the unwavering commitment of volunteer doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, along with the generosity of donors and sponsors. The program remains dedicated to its mission of ensuring that all residents, regardless of their financial status, have access to quality healthcare.

Medicine was distributed to those in need during the last medical mission, and additional services such as dental check-ups and consultations were also provided. The success of these missions relies on the collaborative efforts of the community and healthcare providers working together to improve the overall well-being of Quezon residents.

Meanwhile on August 24, the Aid to Barangay and Distribution of Essential Medicine program was conducted for 30 barangays in Macalelon, Quezon. Financial assistance from the Provincial Government can be used by barangay beneficiaries for additional health programs, while essential medicines will serve as first aid for those who are sick in their areas.

Through these programs, the Provincial Government and Governor Doktora Helen Tan demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the well-being of their constituents and their access to essential healthcare services. The distribution of essential medicines also highlights the importance of preventive care and immediate treatment for illnesses in the community.
