LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Niyogyugan Festival 2024 which showcased a colorful tapestry of parades, culinary showcases, and cultural performances, fostered a sense of pride and unity among the people of Quezon, a vibrant celebration of Quezon's rich culture and agricultural abundance, culminated in a grand finale on August 19th, with the town of Real emerging as the Overall Champion, securing a substantial P5 million development grant.
Real's winning showcase, centered around its thriving coconut industry, captivated attendees and judges alike. Through innovative product displays, interactive exhibits, and demonstrations of sustainable practices, Real highlighted the versatility and economic potential of coconuts, earning them the top spot.
Meanwhile, Tagkawayan's Agri-Tourism Booth garnered significant attention, earning the Grand Winner title and P500,000 for its immersive experience that highlighted the town's agricultural and tourism gems. Visitors were treated to interactive displays, local produce tastings, and captivating presentations, offering a glimpse into Tagkawayan's rich offerings.
The festival also recognized other outstanding participants. In the Agri-Tourism Booth competition, Padre Burgos secured the 1st Runner-up spot (P400,000), Real claimed the 2nd Runner-up position (P300,000), and General Luna took home the 3rd Runner-up prize (P200,000). Consolation prizes of P100,000 each were awarded to Gumaca, Lopez, Pagbilao, Mauban, Infanta, and General Nakar.
Special awards highlighted specific areas of excellence, with Lucban earning the Highest Sales Award (P10,000), Tagkawayan receiving the Best Tour Package Offerings award (P10,000), and Padre Burgos showcasing its creativity with the Best Visual Merchandising award (P10,000).
Beyond the competitions and awards, the Niyogyugan Festival 2024 served as a dynamic platform for showcasing Quezon's unique identity and driving economic opportunities.
