ATIMONAN, Quezon, Philippines – Local pride reached fever pitch as Zone III residents, commonly known as "Zone3nians," dominated a recent swimming competition at the Tagultol Fishing Festival 2024 held in the Maling River.

The Zone3nian swimmers showcased their remarkable skill and determination, leaving their competitors in their wake. The victory was a testament to the community spirit and camaraderie that are hallmarks of the annual festival.

Mayor Ticoy Mendoza shared in the community's pride, stating, "The outstanding performance of our Zone3nians in the swimming competition fills me with immense pride. Their dedication and sportsmanship truly embody the spirit of our beloved town."

He further emphasized, "This is what our festival is all about. It's about celebrating our community, our traditions, and our people. The Zone3nians have shown us what it means to be proud of where you come from."

Among the festival's highlights were the Bangcarera sa Piyesta and Sumo Bangcarera, held on July 30, 2024, in partnership with the Sangguniang Barangay of Zone IV Poblacion, Heras Fishing Supplies, Solanda Enterprises Inc., and the Atimonan Tourism Office. The competition, divided into four categories, showcased the skills and passion of local fishermen and boat enthusiasts.

In addition, a partnership event between the 24/7 Bikers Club and Atimonan Tourism Office on July 28, 2024, at Atimonan Baypark Garden added a thrilling dimension to the festival. The event featured a motorbike show, live music performances, and food booths, attracting both locals and tourists alike.

The festival continued with the highly anticipated Congressman and Governor's Night at the Tagultol Fishing Festival 2024 and Atimonan People's Night on August 3, 2024, featuring a star-studded lineup of performers.

Meanwhile, the Atimonan Pasalubong Center Blessing Ceremony and Ribbon-Cutting on July 29, 2024, marked the official opening of a new facility dedicated to promoting and showcasing local products, supporting local businesses, and fostering community pride.

The Tagultol Fishing Festival 2024 is celebrated as a way to honor the town's fishing industry and heritage, with various activities planned to highlight the importance of sustainable fishing practices and marine conservation efforts.
