LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Former Senator and current Liberal Party spokesperson Atty. Leila Delima and former Quezon Cong. Erin Tanada embarked on a two-day visit to Lucena City and surrounding areas, reinvigorating their connection with grassroots supporters and local leaders.

During the activity, De Lima shared her harrowing experiences in prison, recounting the challenges she faced during her unjust detention. She also spoke about her early career as a human rights lawyer and activist, highlighting the unwavering commitment to justice that has defined her life's work.

She also emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in one's principles, even in the face of adversity and political persecution. Fighting for what is right, De Lima urged her supporters to continue the fight for justice and democracy in the Philippines, inspiring hope and determination among those present.

Turning to the ongoing drug war investigations, de Lima stated, "New evidence is surfacing, pointing towards the involvement of powerful figures in protecting drug operations. Let's remain vigilant as the truth is revealed," she asserted, alluding to Duterte's political allies and close associates.

De Lima further stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive and independent investigation into these allegations, emphasizing the importance of bringing those responsible to justice. She underscored the necessity of upholding the rule of law and protecting the fundamental rights of all individuals, regardless of their political affiliations, highlighting the erosion of democratic values under the previous administration.

Tanada, meanwhile, underscored the need to develop strategies that resonate with the Gen Z demographic. He introduced the newly accredited Mamamayan Liberal Party List, designed to represent a diverse range of sectors, as a platform for inclusive political participation.

He underlined the necessity of engaging with younger voters on social media and other digital channels in order to raise political awareness and participation among young people. Tanada also emphasized the party's commitment to solving important issues including climate change, education reform, and social inequality in order to reach a larger audience.

The enthusiastic response from multigenerational crowds, representing various sectors and municipalities, underscored the enduring appeal of the Liberal Party's message of good governance and reform. The visit served as a reminder of the party's resilience and its determination to play a vital role in shaping the country's political future.
