GENERAL LUNA, Quezon - While General Luna Municipal Mayor Matt Florido indirectly stated his intention to run for a higher position, his statement during a "Kapihan sa PIA" forum on September 6, 2024, "Even if the end of my decision is for service in district three, I will leave my fate to God and the people," suggests that he is open to the possibility.

This statement, coupled with the lack of constitutional barriers preventing him from seeking a higher position, suggests that Florido is seriously considering a run for Congress. However, he remains noncommittal, refusing to confirm or deny his intentions. When questioned if he was being influenced by others to run, he firmly stated that any decision would be his own.

He's dropping hints on Facebook about a potential run for a higher office, which is only adding to the excitement and speculation among his supporters and constituents. This calculated ambiguity likely serves a strategic purpose, allowing him to test the waters and gauge public sentiment before fully committing to a campaign.

According to Mayor Florido, there are critics discouraging him from running, citing concerns about his lack of experience and readiness for the position. Despite this, he seems determined to explore the possibility further and is carefully weighing all factors before making a final decision.

"I just want to expand my impact and serve the community in the best way possible," he stated, hinting at his desire for a greater platform to make a difference. As he continues to navigate this decision-making process, his supporters eagerly await his final choice and potential announcement.

If there are destractors, there are also those who believe in Florido's ability to rise to the challenge and excel in the role if he decides to run. Ultimately, only time will tell what path he will choose and how it will affect his future political career.

Florido, known as the mayor who has brought positive change to the community, has a strong track record of leadership and innovation. His decision to potentially run for a higher office is met with both excitement and anticipation from those who have seen his dedication and commitment firsthand.
