P40-M evacuation hub breaks ground in General Luna

GENERAL LUNA, Quezon - A P40-million evacuation center designed to provide safe haven for disaster-displaced families has recently broken ground in General Luna, Quezon.

Mayor Matt Erwin Florido led the groundbreaking ceremony, heralding the project as a "lifeline" for the community, "This evacuation hub will be a lifeline for our community during times of crisis," he said.



He also emphasized the importance of preparedness and resilience in ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents in General Luna, Quezon.

"It will enable individuals and families to seek emergency refuge, receive essential services, and regain stability during disasters. We are deeply grateful for the support of the national government and Protech Construction & Development Corp. in making this project a reality."

Floriddo pledges that in times of natural crisis and disasters, the evacuation hub will serve as a safe haven for those in need, providing a sense of security and assistance to all those affected.

The Mayor added, "We are committed to building a more resilient General Luna, and this project is a significant step towards that goal. We look forward to the day when this evacuation hub stands as a symbol of our preparedness and our unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of our people."

The project includes the structural improvement of existing public buildings and the construction of new evacuation centers in Region IV-A. The project is expected to be completed within 240 calendar days.

Protech Construction & Development Corp., a reputable contractor, will execute the project. The contract value is PHP 41,277,841.70.
