LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) office in Quezon Province is setting a high bar for digital transformation in government service through embracing a comprehensive approach to modernization, PSA Quezon has streamlined its systems and processes, resulting in more efficient and accessible services for the community.

This includes implementing digital tools to optimize data collection and processing, as well as improving the efficiency of PhilSys registration and ePhilID issuance and providing online platforms for easier access to vital statistics and civil registry documents.

Furthermore, PSA Quezon has enhanced the dissemination of statistical information to the public. "Digital transformation is not just about embracing new technologies; it's about transforming the way we work and serve the public," says Provincial Statistics Officer Airene Pucyutan.

"By reimagining our processes and leveraging digital tools, we can create a more efficient and responsive PSA." This commitment to innovation has positioned the office as a leader in utilizing technology to better serve the community.

This commitment to innovation has earned PSA Quezon significant recognition. During the 2023 PSA Awards, an annual event celebrating outstanding achievements among PSA offices nationwide, PSA Quezon received 3rd place for the best provincial statistics office. The PSA Awards aim to promote excellence and increase the organization's visibility among stakeholders.

PSA Quezon's pursuit of excellence extends beyond digital innovation. The office also secured 3rd place for Best in Partnership and Linkages, 4th place for Best in Information Dissemination, and 5th place for Best in Philippine Identification System, demonstrating a well-rounded approach to service improvement and community engagement.

The theme for this year's National Statistics Month celebration, "Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation," resonates with PSA Quezon's achievements.

During the celebration, the office participated in Kapihan sa PIA Quezon, where it discussed its commitment to innovation and efficiency with media personnel from different entities. Pucyutan emphasized the importance of a holistic approach, stating, "Digital transformation requires a shift in mindset and processes to truly optimize service delivery."

"This achievement is a testament to our dedication to providing timely and accurate statistical information through digital tools and processes," said Pucyutan. "We are proud to be at the forefront of digital transformation in government service."

Key initiatives contributing to PSA Quezon's success include the ePhilID, the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and the use of technology for streamlined data collection and dissemination. These advancements align with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call to fast-track digital transformation in government services, contributing to a more digitally-enabled Philippines.

"This award underscores PSA Quezon's vital role in modernizing government services and ensuring efficient access to crucial statistical information for the community. PSA Quezon's dedication to embracing digital innovation has not only improved efficiency but also enhanced transparency and accessibility for the public." said Pucyutan.

"By leveraging technology and modernizing processes, PSA Quezon is setting a benchmark for other government agencies to follow in achieving a more efficient and citizen-centric approach to service delivery." she added.

PSA plays a crucial role in national development by collecting, compiling, analyzing, and publishing statistical information on various aspects of Filipino life. This data is essential for evidence-based policymaking, planning, and program implementation across different sectors.

The PSA also manages civil registration functions, ensuring the accurate and reliable recording of vital events such as births, marriages, and deaths.
