LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Typhoon "Kristine" unleashed its fury on Quezon Province, leaving a trail of destruction in Mulanay and Catanauan. Floodwaters surged through the towns, prompting swift action from the provincial government.

On October 25, a lifeline arrived in the form of 1,000 hygiene kits and relief goods. The Provincial Government, working alongside the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), delivered these essential supplies to residents of Brgy. Poblacion 2 in Mulanay and Brgy. Madulao in Catanauan.

The extent of the devastation became clear during a Quezon Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Council (Quezon PDRRMC) meeting on October 28th. Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan and Quezon PDRRMO Dr. Melchor Avenilla presided over the grim assessment.

Mayor Diana Abigael Aquino of Real painted a stark picture: 3,600 fishermen in her municipality were affected, 16 houses were completely destroyed, and 407 suffered partial damage. Banana plantations, vital to the local economy, were also ravaged.

In Macalelon, Mayor Artemio Mamburao reported four damaged houses and extensive damage to rice crops. The total cost to the agricultural sector is still being calculated.

Quezon PDRRMO Avenilla reassured the public, stating, "The provincial government remains committed to providing continuous support to all families affected by Typhoon 'Kristine' throughout the province."

Congressman Reynante Arrogancia, district representative of the 3rd District of Quezon has been instrumental in providing relief to the typhoon victims. He worked tirelessly throughout the crisis, distributing food packs to 2,000 families in Catanauan an Mulanay, and 1,000 in San Francisco, with the assistance of Senators Mark Villar and Joel Villanueva.

He also prioritized the needs of the elderly in Macalelon, distributing sacks of rice to 2,000 grandparents in Macalelon by distributing 2,500 sacks of rice as part of the National Elderly Week celebration.

Cong. Arrogancia further announced the arrival of 6,228 family food packs from the DSWD, ready for immediate distribution to various towns in the Bondoc Peninsula. He expressed his gratitude for the support of his constituents, who he considers his strength in the face of adversity.
