TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon – Tagkawayan, Quezon has officially opened its new Tourist Information and Pasalubong Center. This hub is designed to promote local tourism and showcase the unique crafts and delicacies of the region.
The center near the municipal hall offers a comprehensive range of services for visitors. Tourists can access information on local attractions, accommodations, and activities, making it easier to plan their stay in Tagkawayan.
"We want to make sure every visitor has a memorable and enjoyable experience," said Mayor Carlo Eleazar during the opening ceremony. "This center ensures travelers have all the information they need at their fingertips."
In addition to providing tourist information, the center features a diverse selection of locally made products. "Supporting our local artisans is crucial," Mayor Eleazar emphasized. "This center gives them a platform to showcase their talents and sell their beautiful creations."
Visitors can find handcrafted wooden figurines, intricately woven bags, and locally produced delicacies such as kalamay, a sweet treat made from coconut milk and glutinous rice.
"We are incredibly proud of the rich cultural heritage of Tagkawayan," Mayor Eleazar added. "This center is a testament to our commitment to preserving and promoting our traditions." The facility also serves as the new headquarters for the Tagkawayan Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
Staff are available to provide information on the town's many attractions, including the cascading waterfalls of Maguibuay Falls, the intriguing depths of Cabangil Cave, and other sites of natural beauty and cultural significance.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor Danny Liwanag, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Tourism Officer Anna Villanueva, and other local government officials and community members. The center is expected to play a key role in attracting tourists and boosting economic development in Tagkawayan.
