LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Typhoon Pepito, while dissipating as it tracks towards Ilocos Norte, has left a wake of destruction across Quezon Province. Over 87,000 residents remain in evacuation centers, anxiously awaiting the all-clear to return home.

Although the immediate danger has subsided, the storm's impact is evident in the widespread flooding, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted services. Even as it weakens, Pepito still poses a threat, with PAGASA warning of continued heavy rainfall and strong winds in the northern regions. Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
