TANAUAN CITY, Batangas - The search for the next Miss World Philippines - Batangas is officially on! The pageant recently held its first round of screenings and contract signings, welcoming a promising group of candidates who aim to represent Batangas in the national competition. This initial event, held on December 2nd at Estela’s Hotel & Event Center, marked a significant step in the pageant’s quest to crown a new queen.
This exciting opportunity for local talents is thanks to a new partnership between the Miss World Philippines Organization and ALV Pageant Circle. Forged to ensure strong representation for Batangas, this collaboration not only secures a place for the province on the national stage but also provides a platform for local women to showcase their talents and advocate for causes close to their hearts.
To solidify this partnership, a contract signing ceremony was held on October 30, with key figures from both organizations in attendance, including MWP Batangas Provincial Directors and Miss World Philippines 2024 First Runner-Up, Jasmine Omay.
This collaboration paves the way for Batangas’ representatives to compete for the prestigious national title and potentially follow in the footsteps of inspiring Filipinas like Megan Young, the first Filipina to win the Miss World title in 2013. With this partnership, young women from Batangas now have a direct path to shine on the national stage and represent the beauty, intelligence, and grace of Filipinas.
But the journey to the crown begins at home on December 2. A panel of judges carefully assessed candidates on various criteria, including their poise, communication skills, and stage presence. To gain a deeper understanding of each individual, judges also conducted personal interviews, delving into the candidates’ personalities, advocacies, and understanding of the Miss World Philippines values.
And because the Miss World Philippines competition is about more than just outer beauty, candidates were also required to present themselves in both casual wear and swimwear. Following the rigorous screening process, the newly selected candidates participated in an official contract signing and a photoshoot.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the caliber of young women who participated in our first round of screenings,” said Patricia Pomaloy, Marketing Head of the Miss World Philippines - Batangas organization. “Their talent and dedication were truly inspiring. We are confident that we have selected a group of exceptional individuals who will represent Batangas with pride and distinction.”
Pomaloy emphasized the deeper purpose of the pageant, stating, “This pageant is about so much more than just beauty. It’s about empowering young women to become leaders and role models in their communities. We want to provide them with the tools and opportunities they need to make a real difference in the world.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Estela’s Hotel & Event Center for providing us with such a beautiful venue for this event,” Pomaloy added. “We also want to thank all of our sponsors for their generous support. Their contributions are invaluable in helping us to provide these young women with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”
