MULANAY, Quezon – A new waterfront park promising scenic views and recreational opportunities is coming to Mulanay, Quezon. Construction of Bayview Park, located on the town's pier, officially began today, December 12, 2024 with a groundbreaking ceremony.

Mayor Aristotle "Aris" Aguirre, speaking at the groundbreaking, emphasized the park's potential as a tourist attraction and economic driver. "Imagine enjoying stunning sunsets over Lamon Bay from this very spot," he said. "We expect Bayview Park to draw visitors and benefit Mulanay and neighboring communities."

The Mayor also emphasized the park's value as a community gathering place. "Bayview Park will be a place where families and friends can connect, relax, and create lasting memories," he added.

The park is expected to be completed in the year 2025. Planned amenities include a children's playground, a dedicated area for seniors, a walking path, a picnic area, and a fishing pier. Food kiosks operated by local entrepreneurs will offer refreshments.

Attendees at the groundbreaking ceremony included Vice Mayor Jay Castilleja, town councilors, and numerous local officials and community members.

Bayview Park is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating locally sourced materials and energy-efficient lighting. Landscaping will feature a variety of trees for shade and a healthy environment. The park was designed by architect Renz Tagle.

"This park has been a year in the making, and it's incredibly rewarding to see it become a reality," said Vice Mayor Castilleja. "This is a testament to our community's commitment to progress and collaboration. We have listened to the desires of our citizens, and this park reflects their vision for a more beautiful and vibrant Mulanay."

The Vice Mayor added, "This park will enhance the beauty of our town and improve the quality of life for our residents by providing a safe and welcoming space for families to enjoy, for seniors to relax, and for children to play. We are proud to invest in projects that benefit all generations."

In addition to Bayview Park, Mulanay broke ground on a new multi-purpose facility today. This versatile space will serve as a community hub for a wide range of activities. It will be equipped for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton, providing a valuable resource for the youth of Mulanay to engage in physical activity and develop their athletic skills.

The facility will also be used for meetings, community events, and cultural programs. In times of emergency, it can function as a shelter and a distribution center for aid and resources. The multi-purpose facility is expected to be completed in 2025 also.
