LOPEZ, Quezon – The first-ever Dunong Run, held this past Saturday along the Lopez By-pass Road, exceeded expectations, drawing a large crowd of participants from Lopez and across Luzon. The event, a highlight of the ongoing Dunong Festival, successfully raised funds to support educational initiatives within the municipality.

Dunong Run is a fun and meaningful running event that forms part of the Dunong Festival celebration in Lopez, Quezon. It aims to promote health, camaraderie, and community involvement while raising awareness and support for education initiatives.



"We are thrilled with the turnout and the support we received for the Dunong Run," said Mayor Rachel A. Ubana. "It's inspiring to see so many people come together to not only prioritize their health but also contribute to the betterment of our community."

The fun run, which offered various distance categories to accommodate runners of all levels, saw participants enjoying the scenic route while contributing to a worthy cause. The festive atmosphere was further amplified by the presence of sponsors and partners who provided encouragement and resources.

In addition to the physical benefits of the run, participants were also drawn to the opportunity to give back to the community. Funds raised from registration fees will be used to support various educational programs and initiatives in Lopez.

The local government expressed its deep appreciation for the overwhelming support from sponsors, partners, and participants. "This event truly embodies the spirit of Bayanihan," added Mayor Ubana. "The success of the Dunong Run is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal."

The excitement continued after the run with a raffle draw, offering participants the chance to win exciting prizes. The Dunong Run has set a high bar for future community events in Lopez, demonstrating the power of combining fitness, philanthropy, and community spirit.

Participating offices and organizations Mayor's Office, the Lopez Municipal Police Station, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP Lopez), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Rural Health Unit, the Municipal Engineering Office, and many others, showcasing a strong sense of community involvement.
