LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Despite facing challenging weather conditions, the fiery spirit of the athletes burned bright at the Palarong Quezon 2025, held from January 13 to 18. The games, which took place across the municipalities of Lucban, San Antonio, Pagbilao, and the cities of Lucena and Tayabas, saw competitors passionately vying for victory, determined to bring home glory and sporting triumph to their respective hometowns.
The atmosphere throughout the week was electric, with roaring crowds filling the stadiums and gymnasiums, cheering on their local athletes. The competition was fierce, with nail-biting finishes and unexpected upsets keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. From the track and field events to the swimming pools and basketball courts, the athletes pushed themselves to their limits, demonstrating incredible skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
Sariaya emerged victorious, claiming the Overall Champion title with an impressive 66 gold, 62 silver, and 56 bronze medals. Their athletes dominated in a variety of sports, showcasing their depth and talent across the board. Lucban secured the 1st Runner-Up position with a respectable 45 gold, 52 silver, and 38 bronze medals. Candelaria followed closely as the 2nd Runner-Up, garnering 38 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze medals.
The municipalities of Lopez and Atimonan also showcased their athletic prowess, finishing as 3rd Runner-Up and 4th Runner-Up respectively. Lopez bagged 37 gold, 18 silver, and 11 bronze medals, while Atimonan secured 28 gold, 25 silver, and 29 bronze medals. Both municipalities demonstrated a strong commitment to their athletic programs, with their athletes earning a commendable number of medals across various disciplines.
The Palarong Quezon 2025 served as a testament to the dedication and sportsmanship of young athletes across the province. Despite the challenges, their passion for their respective sports shone through, making the event a resounding success. The Closing Ceremony, held at the Southern Luzon State University Gymnasium on January 18th, saw Sariaya athletes celebrate their hard-earned triumph.

Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan, in a statement, expressed pride in the athletes, saying, “We are proud of all the athletes and participants who showed their excellence and dedication in every game.
