Simplifying business registration in Quezon with 2025 BOSS

LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Starting a business can be a daunting task, with numerous permits and licenses required. The Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) program streamlines this process, making it easier for entrepreneurs to get their businesses up and running. Quezon Province is actively participating in the 2025 BOSS rollout.

In line with Republic Act No. 11032, Quezon Province has established BOSS centers where businesses can process all necessary permits and licenses in a single location. This streamlined approach reduces red tape and supports local economic growth.

LGUs in Quezon Province are working closely with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to further facilitate this process, ensuring entrepreneurs can efficiently access essential government services.

DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual stated, "We are committed to creating a business environment that encourages both domestic and foreign investments, generating more jobs and opportunities for Filipinos."

This focus on streamlining business processes aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which prioritizes a competitive and investor-friendly environment. This is essential to attract investments and create more opportunities for Filipinos.

LGUs in Quezon Province have embraced the BOSS program. The municipality of Tayabas, for example, has partnered with several government agencies to offer a comprehensive range of services at their BOSS center, including tax payment, business registration, and environmental clearances.

BOSS centers offer a streamlined process for entrepreneurs to meet regulatory requirements. Entrepreneurs can renew or apply for business permits, including new applications and renewals for Mayor's Permits.

The BOSS initiative also facilitates the acquisition of sanitary permits, ensuring businesses comply with health and safety standards. BOSS centers also provide a venue for obtaining fire safety inspection certificates and allow business owners to conveniently settle their local business taxes.

Depending on the specific LGU, BOSS may also offer access to other government services such as building permits, zoning clearances, and environmental clearances. This comprehensive approach ensures entrepreneurs can conveniently address multiple regulatory requirements in one location.

BOSS reduces bureaucratic hurdles and minimizes processing times by bringing together various agencies, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on their core business activities. This eliminates the need for entrepreneurs to visit multiple government offices, saving them valuable time and effort.

This initiative is particularly beneficial for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). DTI stated, "MSMEs are the backbone of our economy, and BOSS is designed to help them grow and succeed by reducing the time and cost of doing business."

BOSS empowers MSMEs to thrive by simplifying business registration and renewal. This support allows them to contribute more effectively to the country's economic development by fostering job creation and innovation.

The DTI encourages all business owners to check with their respective LGUs for the specific BOSS schedule in their area. For detailed information, entrepreneurs can visit the DTI website or contact their respective DTI regional or provincial office.

The DTI Quezon is now accepting applications for the 2025 Kapatid Mentor Me - Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Online Batch 1. This program is specifically designed for entrepreneurs who are at least 18 years old, Filipino citizens residing in Quezon Province, and are owners or co-owners of a registered business that has been operating for at least one year.

Applicants must have employees or manage a team and be willing to commit to a Contract of Commitment. They must also be willing to attend sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from March to June 2025.
