LUCENA CITY, Quezon – In a continuing effort to enhance healthcare accessibility, the Boom Konsulta program, a health initiative of the Lucena City local government, continues this 2025, bringing essential healthcare services directly to residents in various barangays.

Led by CHO-OIC Dr. Jocelyn Chua, the City Health Office (CHO) is implementing the program with a team of doctors, nurses, and medical technicians who visit barangays on a scheduled basis. "Boom Konsulta" and Satellite Clinic services are canceled on non-working days such as holidays and during typhoons.

"Boom Konsulta is more than just a medical mission; it's our commitment to proactive healthcare," said Dr. Chua. "We're bringing vital services directly to the community, ensuring that everyone has access to check-ups, consultations, and necessary treatments. We believe that a healthy community is a thriving community, and Boom Konsulta is a key part of achieving that vision."

The program recently conducted its first outreach in Barangays Poblacion 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 11. Residents of these barangays received a range of free, quality healthcare services, including medical check-ups, dental check-ups, consultations, laboratory tests, and free medication for both children and adults.

"We understand that access to healthcare can be a challenge for some residents," Dr. Chua added. "That's why we're bringing these services directly to their barangays. Boom Konsulta eliminates the need for travel and ensures that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to prioritize their health. We encourage everyone to avail themselves of these free services and take a proactive step towards a healthier future."

During this initial outreach, a total of 74 pediatric and adult patients received medical attention. In addition to general consultations, the "Boom Konsulta" team facilitated three referrals for eye surgery (Oplan Mata), one referral to a surgeon, and one to an ENT specialist. The team also performed 28 first and second EKGs.

The beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude and happiness to the local government, headed by Mayor Kuya Mark Alcala and Vice Mayor Roderick Dondon Alcala, for their continued dedication to providing health programs and prioritizing the health of Lucena City residents.

The CHO has confirmed that the "Boom Konsulta" program will continue its rollout to other barangays throughout the city, working towards a healthier and safer "Boom Lucena" for all. Residents are encouraged to watch for announcements in their barangays regarding upcoming "Boom Konsulta" schedules.
