LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Senatorial candidate and boxing legend Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao made a memorable entrance in Queen Margarette Hotel, Diversion Road in Lucena City as he rode a big bike during his campaign sortie.

Joined by fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, the candidate drew large crowds and attention from locals, he addressed thousands of youth and leaders at the gathering, outlining his plans for the future and reiterating his commitment to public service.

Pacquiao emphasized his support for livelihood projects that provide sustainable income opportunities for Filipinos. He also reaffirmed his pledge to push for the passage of Senate Bill 2463, which seeks to establish a free public housing program.

The proposed legislation, Senate Bill 2463, aims to provide a free public housing program for Filipinos, amending Republic Act No. 11201 to achieve this goal. If passed, this bill would be a significant step towards addressing the country's housing needs.

"What I desire is for families who are without their own homes and without livelihoods to be given their own homes and the opportunity for their own livelihoods. That is what I will prioritize and enact into law if we are fortunate enough to be seated in the Senate.," Pacquiao said.

"I have filed many bills, though they have not all been enacted into law. One of those is what I have been calling the Pre-Public Housing Act. I desire for that to be enacted into law because I want to give free housing to every family that is homeless," he added.

The senatorial candidate also expressed deep concern over the recently announced reduced 2025 national budget allocation for education, citing potential detrimental effects on the quality of learning and access to resources. He pledged to thoroughly review the budget proposal, question the rationale behind the cuts during Senate deliberations, and advocate for increased funding to ensure the future of Filipino students is not compromised.

Pacquiao's remarkable boxing career spans over two decades, with a record of 62 wins, 7 losses, and 2 draws. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional boxers of all time, having won 12 major world titles in eight different weight divisions. Pacquiao's achievements have made him a beloved figure in the Philippines and a source of national pride.

In addition to his impressive boxing career, Pacquiao has emphasized the importance of sports development in the country. "We need a solid and concrete program for sports development in the country. We need to strengthen our grassroots sports development program. That's very important."

Pacquiao's commitment to philanthropy is evident in his various initiatives, including building homes for poor Filipinos in his hometown using his own funds and establishing the Manny Pacquiao Foundation.
