BURDEOS, Quezon - Travelers eager to explore the pristine beaches and charming towns of Polillo Island now have a faster and more convenient way to get there. Raymond Bus has launched a new service directly connecting Manila to Burdeos, Quezon via Polillo Island, with the inaugural trip successfully completed on February 18th.
This groundbreaking route marks the first time a bus company has offered a direct connection between the bustling capital city and this picturesque island municipality. This new service promises to significantly boost tourism and open up new opportunities for trade and commerce in the region, benefiting both locals and visitors alike.
The successful inaugural trip, which included a seamless transfer onto a Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry for the island crossing, has paved the way for regular bus operations. This exciting development not only streamlines travel to the Polillo Island Group but also reinforces Raymond Transportation's commitment to expanding its network and providing accessible transportation options to underserved areas.
This new route significantly improves access to the often less-traveled gems of the Polillo Island Group. Where once reaching these idyllic islands required multiple transfers, long waits, and a degree of logistical planning, travelers can now sit back and relax as they enjoy a more streamlined and comfortable journey.
Raymond Transportation has confirmed that the new Burdeos route initially follows the same path as their existing Manila to Infanta, Quezon route, which travels via Famy, Laguna. However, upon reaching Real, Quezon, passengers will disembark and board a RoRo ferry for a scenic 2.5-hour journey across the water to Polillo Port. From there, the bus will continue its northward journey to the final destination of Burdeos, Quezon.
For the convenience of passengers, the Manila terminal is strategically located in Legarda, while the Burdeos terminal is situated at the Burdeos Port. This ensures easy access for those departing from or arriving in either of these key locations.
While the official fare matrix is still pending release, travelers can get a general idea of the potential costs by considering Raymond Transportation's current fares for similar routes. For instance, fares from PITX to Naga are currently ₱600, PITX to Legazpi is ₱750, and PITX to Gubat, Sorsogon is ₱800 for an air-conditioned bus. It's important to note that these are just estimates, and the final fare for the Burdeos route will likely include the cost of the ferry crossing.
With the new route now in operation, passengers can expect a more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience. Raymond Transportation is known for its modern fleet of well-maintained buses, equipped with amenities such as air-conditioning, comfortable seating, and onboard restrooms to ensure a pleasant journey.
"Buses depart Burdeos at 8:00 AM daily, allowing passengers to plan their trips efficiently," says a Raymond Transportation representative. "Passengers with luggage should inquire about potential extra charges beforehand, as fees may apply depending on the size and weight of the baggage."
The complete route encompasses a picturesque journey from Burdeos to Polillo, then Real (via RoRo from Ungos Port), followed by stops in Famy, Tanay, Antipolo, and Cainta, before finally reaching Legarda, Manila. This comprehensive route not only connects Manila and Burdeos but also provides convenient access to several other towns and cities along the way.
