LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The Lucena City Government Complex Grounds recently transformed into a hub of intense competition and community spirit on March 14th as Barangay and Industrial Community Fire Auxiliary Groups (CFAG) showcased their vital fire safety skills at the 3rd Kuya Mark Alcala Fire Olympics 2025.
The Lucena City local government led by Mayor Mark Don Victor Alcala aims to strengthen community resilience and promote proactive fire safety measures through events like the Kuya Mark Alcala Fire Olympics. By providing a platform for CFAGs to hone their skills and demonstrate their preparedness, the city reinforces its commitment to safeguarding its residents and properties.
The Barangay Level competition was a fierce display of teamwork and proficiency. Barangay Dalahican emerged as the Over-All Champion, demonstrating exceptional performance across various challenges. Following closely were Barangay Dos and Barangay Ibabang Dupay, securing second and third place, respectively.
Individual excellence was also recognized with specific skill awards. Barangay Cuatro received the award for Best in Hose Laying and Replacement, while Barangay Ibabang Dupay excelled in the Bucket Relay. Barangay Dos showcased their expertise in Flammable Liquid handling, and Barangay Mayao Crossing was awarded Best in Uniform. The title of Ms. Barangay Fire Olympics was proudly bestowed upon the representative of Barangay Bocohan.
The Industrial Level competition witnessed a similar display of dedication and skill. SM City Lucena emerged victorious, claiming the coveted first-place position. Their representative also earned the title of Ms. Industrial Fire Olympics. St. Anne College Lucena demonstrated strong performance, securing second place in the competition.
The successful event was made possible through the diligent efforts of the Lucena City Fire Station, under the leadership of FSUPT. Elias Baguio III. City Administrator Anacleto “Jun” Alcala Jr. also played a crucial role, extending support on behalf of Mayor Kuya Mark Alcala.
Their combined efforts underscored the city's unwavering commitment to fire prevention and community preparedness. The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of readiness and the vital role played by local fire auxiliary groups in safeguarding the community.
