GUMACA, Quezon - Aspiring senator Camille Villar has reaffirmed her dedication to enhancing support systems for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) while also emphasizing the critical need for rural development during a recent visit to Quezon province. Villar stressed her readiness to serve and provide services to OFWs, acknowledging their significant contributions to the Philippine economy and the necessity for proper support and protection.

At her campaign stop, Villar highlighted her family's long-standing dedication to OFW welfare. She detailed programs providing legal aid, repatriation assistance, livelihood opportunities, and dedicated hotlines. Villar also underscored her support for Republic Act 11641, the Department of Migrant Workers Act, aimed at strengthening OFW rights.

"Our OFWs are the backbone of our nation," Villar stated, pledging to champion initiatives that provide legal counsel, streamline repatriation, and offer livelihood support. She also committed to enhancing communication channels through expanded hotlines.

Beyond OFW welfare, Villar outlined a vision for revitalizing rural economies through balanced investments in modernizing agriculture and expanding infrastructure. She expressed her intent to collaborate with local government units in Quezon to improve services for OFWs, strengthen agriculture, and enhance infrastructure, mirroring her parents' dedication.

"My vision is to contribute to a better future for all Filipinos, by addressing the multifaceted challenges they face," Villar said, believing that effective legislation and targeted programs can significantly improve lives nationwide.

During her engagement, Villar thanked Governor Helen Tan and local officials for their support, emphasizing the importance of direct community interaction. As a millennial leader, she expressed enthusiasm for bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to public service, aiming for a more progressive Philippines.

Villar articulated her senatorial platform, focusing on strengthening agriculture through enhanced support for farmers, ensuring access to quality education, and recognizing the vital role of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in economic growth. Her overarching goal is to foster inclusive growth by prioritizing these key sectors.

Her dedication, she said, underscores a commitment to tangible results and sustainable development, striving for a more equitable and resilient society where OFW contributions and rural community potential are fully realized and supported. Villar expressed confidence in bringing new ideas to uplift the lives of every Filipino. Her focus remains on supporting OFWs, agriculture, and infrastructure, mirroring her parents' public service.
