PAGBILAO, QUEZON – Pagbilao's First SK building, a landmark multi-purpose facility, officially began construction with a groundbreaking ceremony recently in Barangay Bukal. The building will host both a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) center and a daycare.

Considered Pagbilao's first dedicated youth facility, the structure will serve not only as an SK center and daycare but also as a multi-purpose hall. It aims to be a true "Tahanan ng Kabataan", fostering local development and learning.

Funding of ₱5 million originates from the national Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) program, stated SK Chairperson Angelo Arriola. He noted Barangay Bukal is one of only three recipients of this grant in Quezon Province, secured via the GP Partylist (Cong. GP Padiernos and Atty. JP Padiernos) with coordination by the Bukal SK Council.

The project received crucial support beyond the FALGU grant. The family of Zenaida Lopez de Asis and AL Realty Development Corporation Inc. donated the land for the facility, earning gratitude from local councils. Additionally, SK Chairperson Arriola credited Congressman Bong Tevez for approving the fund release and lauded the vital backing from the Barangay Bukal Council under Chairwoman Johan Carlos.

The groundbreaking ceremony itself was attended by local officials including Vice Mayor Shierre Ann Palicpic, MLGOO Sonia Matanguihan, Engr. Louie Buenaventura, and Maria Concepcion Lacre. Ultimately, the project marks a significant step towards fostering a more active and engaged youth community in Barangay Bukal.
