LUCENA CITY, Quezon - In a testament to their dedication to public safety, the Lucena Component City Police Station (PNP) was commended by the city government during a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, April 28, 2025 for their exemplary service in maintaining peace and order. The recognition, presided over by Mayor Don Victor Mark Alcala, Vice Mayor Roderick "Dondon" Alcala, and CMO Supervising Head Atty. Euclides Porbes, highlighted the police force's recent successes in anti-crime operations.

The police force was awarded the Flight of Commendation for the successful execution of buy-bust operations on April 4 in Purok Sampaguita 1, Barangay 10, and on April 23 in Purok Little Baguio, Barangay 1, and Barangay Ibabang Tupi. These operations resulted in the arrest of three high-value individuals and the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of 3.6 million pesos.

The Lucena PNP was also lauded for their swift response and apprehension of suspects in two separate incidents: a robbery on April 20 and the theft of PLDT cables on April 23 in Barangay 4. These prompt actions by the police force demonstrated their efficiency in addressing immediate threats to public safety and property within the city's barangays.

Acting Chief of Police Police Lt. Col. Dennis de Guzman also received individual recognition for his exemplary leadership, law enforcement, and public service. This honor specifically acknowledged his instrumental guidance during the said successful operations, reflecting his long-standing commitment to the Lucena community.

Highlighting their dedication, Mayor Alcala praised the Lucena PNP for their recent accomplishments, stating that they clearly demonstrate their strong commitment to upholding peace and order in the city. He specifically highlighted the successful buy-bust operations and the quick resolution of robbery and theft incidents as evidence of their dedication.

"First and foremost, congratulations po sa PNP natin dahil sa recent accomplishments natin, kita naman natin they're trying to maintain yung peace and order dito, especially po pagdating sa mga illegal na droga, sa mga nakawan at sa iba pang krimen," Mayor Alcala said.

He further acknowledged the challenges faced by the police force due to the city's growing population while maintaining the same number of personnel. Recognizing these constraints, Mayor Alcala directly addressed the officers, offering words of encouragement and highlighting the city's appreciation for their tireless work despite these limitations.

"Although sabi nga natin, it's very challenging for them kasi pataasan-pataasan populasyon ng Lucena City, pero yung personnel natin sa PNP remains the same. Pero kahit pa paano po, ginagawa nila ng paraan 24x7," Mayor Alcala added.

Underlying these achievements is a strong and effective partnership between the city government and its police force. With this significant recognition as a testament to their effectiveness, the Lucena Component City Police Station moves forward with renewed vigor, and this partnership instills confidence in the community's ongoing safety and security under their dedicated watch.
